Microsoft Price Increase in July Amended: OLP: 1.7%, OV 25.9%

Today sees the release of the preview Microsoft pricelists for July. The increase Microsoft are implementing in July due to the strength of the Euro against the Pound Stirling has now changed since Microsoft announced the figures last month. Due to the weakening Euro, the planned increases would have seen the Stirling price go from a much cheaper option to much much more expensive option.

Todays preview pricelist shows:

Commercial Open Licence: 1.7% increase

Office 365 via MOSP: 15% increase

Commercial Open Value/ Open Value subscription: 25.9% increase

Government Open Value/ Open Value Subscription: 25.9% increase

Government Open Licence: 25.9% increase (to be reinstated on the Price List on the 1 July)

All the academic programs are not affected by the blanket increase but are still subject to pricing fluctuations month on month.

All final pricing will be announced on the 15 June 2012
